Do we offer online/virtual therapy sessions?

Yes! Wellness PNW Counseling offers virtual counseling to all of our clients. Online therapy, also known as telehealth or teletherapy, is conducted through our electronic health record system (Simple Practice) and is a great way to securely engage with your mental health provider over the phone or computer.

Where is your office located?

Our team is based in Portland, Oregon and offers a variety of mental health counseling services to clients across the greater metro area. We are currently only offering Telehealth or online counseling sessions.

Does relational, or marriage, counseling work?

Counseling can be a powerful space for couples, or partners, to work through issues in their relationship and find ways to reconnect. We work with couples to develop helpful frameworks for understanding why obstacles arise in romantic partnerships and help you build skills for working through them. All of our clinicians have received advanced training in relational counseling (couples therapy) modalities- EFT, Gottman, and Imago- and have a unique passion for working with relationships.

Is therapy right for me?

Balancing stress and happiness is a natural part of living, but if you feel the scales are tipping too far in an undesirable direction, therapy can help find balance. And mental health counseling isn’t just for people in crisis. Many clients find maintenance counseling very helpful in navigating life’s ongoing challenges.

What are common reasons people seek counseling?

How many therapy sessions until I see improvement?

The duration of therapy is unique to each client(s) that we work with. This can depend on a number of presenting concerns that bring you in. Some concerns begin to see improvement in just a few sessions, others take a bit more time. Whatever pace your healing requires, we can work together to build a plan that will work for your unique situation.

How do I find the best therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist for your needs may seem difficult or confusing, and it ultimately depends on finding a good fit for your therapeutic goals. Many clients find it helpful to start their search with reliable online databases like Psychology Today, Portland Therapy Center, or TherapyDen. Others find it helpful to get recommendations from trusted friends or family members. Start by identifying the concerns that you would like help with and then narrow down your search to therapists who are specialized in treating those areas. We try to make it as simple as possible by offering free consultation calls for new clients. This is a time for us to connect directly, ask any questions you may have, and decide if Wellness PNW is the right fit for you!
